Computer Architecture Group

Computer Architecture Group (CAG) was established within Institute of Computer Science, Control and Robotics (formerly - Institute of Technical Cybernetics) by a group of researchers and teachers working in the field of computer science, control and digital circuits.

Research activities of CAG focus on applications of residual number systems (RNSs) for speed-up of arithmetic operations in central processing units, applications to image processing for graphical processing units as well as their application to design of digital filters. Another area of research focuses on cryptography, security of digital circuits and hardware implementation of different algorithms. Side channel resistant implementations of crypto algorithms, hardware viruses detection and development of secure JTAG interface for digital circuit are under investigation.
See research topics for more information on what we are interested in, and research projects to read what we are working on currently.

We cooperate with number of research laboratories, universities and industry such as Arizona State University, University of Technology Sydney and KGHM Polska Miedź s.a.

New research grant
Tuesday, 20 December 2011
A new 34 month long research grant concerning automatic synthesis of FIR filters based on residue number system arithmetic was awarded to our group.
New PhD student in our group
Thursday, 27 October 2011
A new Ph.D. student Marcin Wesołowski has joined our group. Mr Wesołowski's research will focus on residue number system arithmetic and its hardware architectures for both ASIC and FPGA implementations.
